JAZLIN, B.BABY - “SPICY”

When we started Meraki Sthlm, we had a clear vision of where we wanted to go with it.
We made a one year, a two year and a five year plan.
Commercials was something that was a part of our five year plan, but, as usual nothing has went according to our plans, thankfully. 

Nord DDB, a commercial agency, reached out to us to consult in their SoMe project for McDonalds product “Spicy Nuggets”. One thing led to another and we got the opportunity to develop their concept to a bigger picture than they planned for from the beginning and a new campaign plan for their release for the Spicy Nuggets. 

With Hip hop being what we know best we decided to pitch a song and a music video as part of the So-Me campaign. What we didn’t know is how time consuming and challenging it would be, with every step being checked at least 10 times before we got a green light to start off the project. It is safe to say that this has been by far our most challenging and most self developing project - but we’ve also had so much fun during this project!

When we finally got a GO on the project, we started off in the studio with the music producers and the artists.
We usually get a song when we are requested to do a video for an artist but this time we had to pitch the video idea before the song was even created, that was a special experience but the song fitted the idea perfectly.
Jazlin, B.Baby, the producers PabloElGato and SWRD had a great connection in the studio and the song came naturally to them and we think it’s a banger!

Finishing the song, it was time to record the music video.
This production is the calmest we’ve been to… ok, let’s be honest, shit always happen but since we had one scene per day instead of 2-4 scenes the energy was calm, stress free and most importantly, fun!

We are very proud of the results. The song, music video and campaign is so good and we’re so happy to get the chance to do commercials for the first time - and with the client being the worlds largest brand? McDonald’s? Unreal but amazing!
